Nakshatra Mirror Privacy Policy
How Nakshatra Mirror 0.2.1 handles screen recording, encrypted local connections and device permissions.
Last updated: October 28, 2026
1. Scope and developer
This policy covers Nakshatra Mirror version 0.2.1 for Mac, iPhone, iPad, Android and compatible browsers, published by Nakshatra AI LLC, Miami, Florida. It matches the app version submitted for that release. Privacy questions: support@nakshatra-ai.com.
2. Screen recording, audio and remote controls
Nakshatra Mirror uses the Mac Screen Recording permission for one feature: showing the selected Mac display, and playing that display’s system audio, on the phone, tablet or browser you pair. Captured data is the visible contents of the selected display (open windows, documents, notifications and anything else on that screen) and the Mac’s system audio. The only purpose is to let you view and, when you turn remote control on, operate your own Mac from a device you paired. Nakshatra Mirror does not use screen recording for advertising, profiling, analytics, AI training, account building or any other purpose.
Screen and audio are not shared with the developer or any other third party. They are sent only to the receivers you pair, directly on your local network, and are not routed through a Nakshatra Mirror server. Nakshatra Mirror does not save screen or audio as recording files and does not upload them to developer storage. Frames and audio packets stay in temporary memory on the Mac and the paired receiver while encoding, sending and playing; an optional picture delay also uses memory. Those buffers are overwritten during playback and cleared when the stream stops or disconnects. No developer-held screen or audio recording remains after a session.
3. Encryption and certificates
Current Mac hosts require HTTPS with TLS 1.2 or newer for network streaming, pairing and remote input. Each Mac creates its own certificate authority and server keys; private keys remain in that Mac’s Keychain. Verify the CA fingerprint on your Mac before explicitly trusting its public certificate on a receiver. An untrusted or invalid certificate is refused. The temporary Android installation page uses HTTP for public APK/certificate downloads only and does not serve your screen or accept pairing codes. APK authenticity is protected by its digital signature.
Certificate trust persists until you remove it in your device’s certificate/profile settings. Trusting a local CA is a meaningful device setting; remove it when no longer needed and protect access to your Mac.
4. Local storage
Pairing codes, saved Mac addresses and display preferences remain in local app storage or browser session storage. Apple receiver pairing secrets use the device Keychain. The Mac keeps encryption keys in its Keychain and public certificates in app storage. The app does not send these preferences to a Nakshatra Mirror account service. Operating-system backups may include app data under your own platform settings.
Pairing details and preferences persist separately from the screen stream until you replace or delete them using the controls described below.
5. Permissions
The Mac needs Screen Recording for display and system-audio capture, as described in section 2. It needs Device Control and Data Access, or Accessibility on older macOS, only so a paired device can send pointer and keyboard input to your own Mac. Native receivers need local-network access. Android declares microphone permission but the current receiver does not record its microphone; audio originates from the Mac. Permissions are managed by the operating system and can be revoked. Sandbox and browser restrictions may limit particular controls.
6. Purchases, support and the website
Apple handles App Store purchases and refund requests under its own policies. We do not receive your payment-card details from the app. If you email support, we receive your email address and the information you choose to send; do not include pairing codes or private screen content. We use those messages to respond to the issue and satisfy applicable obligations.
This website is separate from the app. It uses the website’s existing Google Analytics configuration to measure visits; app screen and audio streams are not sent to website analytics. The website’s general terms are at /terms/.
7. Your choices and changes
Stop sharing to end screen and control access. Replace the pairing code to invalidate old pairing links, forget saved pairings, clear browser storage, revoke permissions or uninstall the app. Remove the Nakshatra Mirror CA or profile from each receiver if you stop using that Mac.
