Schengen Buddy Privacy Policy

1. Who this policy covers

This policy describes Schengen Buddy, the iOS and Android app published by Nakshatra AI LLC (package and bundle identifier com.nakshatra.visadays). It explains what the app stores, what stays on your device, and the few cases where you can choose to send information somewhere else.

It does not cover third-party websites you open from the app, such as an official European travel page, a map, or a search result.

2. Who we are

Nakshatra AI LLC is a Florida limited liability company headquartered in Miami, Florida. Our Florida company registration number is L26000434596.

3. Information stored on your device

Schengen Buddy has no accounts. The details below are saved in the app’s files on the phone or tablet you use. We do not receive a copy.

• Traveler profiles you enter, such as a name, nationality, country and state of residence, residence status, passport number, passport expiry, and date of birth.
• Trips and stays you record, including destinations, dates, purpose, and notes.
• Passport and visa records, including names, document numbers, nationality, dates of birth, issue and expiry dates, issuing country, visa type, validity, number of entries, and territorial validity.
• Photos and files you add to the document vault, with the titles and notes you give them.
• Checklist progress, timeline notes, and reminder text you create.
• Settings on that device, such as whether the app or the document vault should ask for Face ID, Touch ID, or another biometric unlock, and whether the notifications switch is on.

4. Camera, photos, and scanning

The camera is used to photograph a passport identity page or a visa sticker. The photo library is used only when you choose to import a picture into the vault. You can also type details yourself.

Reading the document happens on the device. On Android, on-device text recognition reads the image. On iPhone, the system document scanner and on-device text recognition do the same job. The app does not upload the photo, or the passport and visa fields it reads, to Nakshatra AI.

5. How information is protected

Saved records and vault files are encrypted on the device before they are written to storage. The encryption key is kept in the iOS Keychain or the Android Keystore, not in the app’s files. A photo or record is decrypted when the app shows or uses it.

You can require Face ID, Touch ID, or the device’s other biometric unlock before opening the app or the document vault. The app does not receive or store your fingerprint or face template. The operating system checks that unlock.

Android backup of the app is turned off. On iPhone, the encryption key is marked so it stays on that device.

6. What this version of the app does not do

• It does not create an account, and it does not send your vault, trips, or passport and visa records to a Nakshatra AI server.
• It does not show advertising.
• It does not ask for your location.
• It does not sell personal information, and it does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

7. Product analytics

Android builds send product analytics to Google Firebase Analytics so we can see which screens and controls people use. This starts when you open the app. It does not wait for a separate tap.

The events are limited to tokens such as a screen name, a control name, and a coarse outcome, for example whether a scan recognized a document or which trip-length bucket a stay falls into. They do not include your name, email, passport or visa numbers, dates of birth, trip dates, notes, search text, photos, or document images.

Firebase also receives an app instance identifier and, on Android, the advertising identifier. Those identifiers are used to count usage. The app does not show ads, and these identifiers are not sold or shared with advertising partners.

The analytics connection uses HTTPS. Google processes this data as our service provider. The app does not offer a control to delete analytics events that have already been sent. Delete all data in Settings erases the travel file stored on the device. It does not erase analytics events already sent to Google.

8. When information can leave your device

Nothing in the list below happens in the background. Each one starts because you tap a control.

• Export. Settings can create a JSON file of the data stored in the app and hand it to the system share sheet. Whatever you share goes to the app or person you pick, under that service’s own terms.
• Maps and search. Lost-passport help can open a map or a web search for a consulate. The query is the mission or country you are looking up, not your passport number.
• Official entry-exit page. The app can open the European Union’s public traveller page in an in-app browser so you can check a stay. That site is operated by the European Union and can set its own cookies. Location is turned off in that browser. The app can fill fields on that page from data already stored on the device. It does not submit the form for you.
• Optional label matcher. If you type both an HTTPS address and an API key, the app can ask that address to match form labels it could not match on the device. That request contains the page address and the field labels, not passport or visa values. The key is sent only to the address you entered. Leave both blank and this request is not made.
• Links you open. Country guides can open official and visa-center websites. Those sites are not operated by Nakshatra AI.
• Notifications on iPhone. If you allow them, reminders are scheduled on the device. They are not sent through a Nakshatra push server. The Android notifications switch in this version is stored on the device only.

9. This webpage

This policy is published at https://nakshatra-ai.com/schengen-buddy/privacy/ so you can open it in a browser without installing the app.

The nakshatra-ai.com website, including this page, is separate from the app. The website uses Google Analytics to measure visits to this site. That website measurement is separate from the product analytics in the Android app, described above. The website’s terms are at https://nakshatra-ai.com/terms/.

10. Children

Schengen Buddy is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children on our servers. A parent or guardian may store a child’s travel details on their own device. If you do that, you are responsible for having the authority to enter that information.

11. Your choices

You can edit travelers, trips, passport records, visa records, and vault files in the app. Settings includes Export data and Delete all data. Delete all data erases what Schengen Buddy has stored on that device. Uninstalling the app removes the app; use Delete all data first if you want the stored records erased before you uninstall.

You can refuse the camera, photo library, biometrics, and notification prompts. The rest of the app still works, without the feature that needed that permission.

Because we do not hold your travel file on a server, access and deletion of that file happen on the device. If you email us, we use that message to answer you and we keep it only as long as needed for that correspondence.

12. How long information is kept

Your travel file stays on the device until you delete it, delete all app data, or uninstall the app. We do not keep a server copy of that file.

Product analytics events sent from Android are kept by Google under Firebase Analytics retention. Deleting the travel file on the device does not delete those events.

13. International processing

Your Schengen Buddy file stays on the device. If you export it, open a third-party website, or use the optional label matcher, the service you chose may process that information in another country under its own policy.

Product analytics from Android are processed by Google, which may store that data outside your country.

14. Changes to this policy

If we change how Schengen Buddy handles information, we will update this page and the date above. The current version of the app does not show ads. If a later version does, this policy will be updated before that version is released.

16. Independence

Schengen Buddy is an independent app. It is not endorsed, sponsored, or created by the European Union, any EU government or institution, or by visa application centers such as VFS Global or BLS International. Day counts and document checklists are planning aids. Confirm entry rules with the official authority before you travel or apply.
