First Up Privacy Policy
First Up is a goal tracker. Your lists are stored on your device and, when sync is on, in your own iCloud. Nakshatra AI does not run a server that holds your account or your goals.

1. Who this policy covers
This policy describes First Up, the goal tracker published by Nakshatra AI LLC. On the App Store the listing name is First Up by Nakshatra. The name on the device is First Up. The Apple bundle identifier is com.nakshatra.sorted. It covers the Mac app and the iPhone, iPad, and Mac Catalyst app in the current source.
The Android project in that source is a placeholder screen. It does not store goals or send them anywhere.
This policy does not cover the Apple App Store, iCloud, Sign in with Apple, or another app you open from the system share sheet. This policy is effective October 21, 2026.
2. Who we are
Nakshatra AI LLC is a Florida limited liability company headquartered in Miami, Florida. Our Florida company registration number is L26000434596.
Privacy questions about First Up: sales@nakshatra-ai.com.
3. Information stored on your device
First Up keeps the goal tracker on the device. The app does not upload that file to a Nakshatra AI server.
- Groups, goals, headings, tasks, and notes you write, including titles, descriptions, status, priority, tags, deadlines, due dates, and reminder timing.
- An emoji for a goal, or a custom icon image if you choose one.
- On Mac, a guest workspace if you continue without signing in, or a workspace stored under your Apple identifier if you sign in.
- On iPhone and iPad, a local database of those lists and edits, plus the on-device settings for iCloud backup and the time of the last successful sync.
4. Sign in with Apple
Sign in with Apple is optional. On Mac you can continue as a guest. First Up does not create an account on a Nakshatra server.
On Mac, the sign-in window asks Apple for a stable identifier. It does not request your name or email. The app checks Apple’s response with Apple’s public keys at appleid.apple.com. If that response includes an email, the app saves the email with the identifier. The session is encrypted in local storage with the macOS keychain. The return address is https://nakshatra-ai.com/. The identity token is in the address fragment, and the app reads it on the Mac.
On iPhone and iPad, the app saves the Apple user identifier in the device Keychain, together with the name and email when Apple provides them. That Keychain item stays on this device and is available when the device is unlocked. The app does not keep the identity token or the authorization code.
Signing out removes the saved Apple identity on that device. It leaves your lists in place, leaves you signed in to iCloud, and leaves sync as it was. You can also stop First Up from your Apple Account under Sign in with Apple.
5. iCloud backup, sync, and sharing
Backup and sync use the iCloud account signed in on the device. That account is separate from Sign in with Apple. Apple operates iCloud and CloudKit. Nakshatra AI does not.
On Mac, after you sign in or continue as a guest, the app writes the workspace to your iCloud Drive folder First Up/Sync and to the app container Documents/FirstUpSync (iCloud.com.nakshatra.sorted). It checks again while the app is open. A copy of the workspace also stays on the Mac.
On iPhone and iPad, Automatic iCloud backup and sync is on until you turn it off. When iCloud is available, the app uses a private CloudKit store and a shared CloudKit store, and it exchanges a workspace journal through iCloud Drive. Turning the switch off detaches those cloud caches on the device. The app does not delete records already in iCloud when you turn the switch off.
From the Apple app you can share a list with Apple’s sharing sheet. You choose the people and whether they can edit. The shared list includes the goal content on that list, including a custom icon image if you set one. When the owner stops sharing, the owner’s copy stays on the device. People who were invited do not receive an extra copy from the app.
The Apple app registers for remote notifications so CloudKit can tell the device that iCloud data changed. First Up does not run its own push service.
6. Photos
A custom icon is optional. You can keep an emoji.
On Mac, you pick an image file. The app crops it to a small PNG and stores that image on the goal. On iPhone and iPad, you pick one photo. The app resizes it to a small PNG and stores it on the goal. The app does not ask for the camera, the microphone, or access to your whole photo library.
If that goal is backed up, synced, or shared, the icon image travels with the goal in your iCloud.
7. Notifications
Reminders are optional. If you set one and allow notifications, the app schedules it on the device. The notice shows the goal or task title and when it is due. On iPhone and iPad the app asks for alert, sound, and badge permission. Reminder text is not sent to Nakshatra AI. You can turn notifications off in the system settings for the device.
8. Analytics
First Up uses Google Analytics for measurement. Google Analytics measures how the app is used, so we can see which parts of First Up people use and improve the app.
We may add similar tools for analytics and data retention. Google Analytics, and any similar analytics tools we add, can retain the measurement data they collect.
9. Other information the app does not ask for
The app does not ask for your location or your contacts. It does not include an advertising SDK. It does not include its own crash-reporting tool. The current source does not show a control that sells personal information or shares it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Whether Apple later provides the developer with crash reports from people who choose to share device diagnostics with app developers is outside this app’s code. This policy does not describe that Apple setting.
10. Who else can receive information
Apple receives what it needs to provide Sign in with Apple, iCloud Drive, CloudKit sharing, and notifications. Apple’s own privacy policy covers those services.
Google Analytics receives measurement data about how First Up is used, as described above. If we add a similar analytics tool, that tool can receive the same kind of measurement data and can retain it.
On Mac, Copy, Save, and Share run only when you choose them. Copy places goal text or an image on the clipboard. Save writes a file you pick. Share opens the system share sheet. First Up does not send that text or image to Nakshatra AI.
11. How long information stays
Goals stay on the device until you delete them or remove the app. Deleting a goal, task, or group removes it from the workspace. The app keeps a deletion marker so another device can sync that deletion. The code does not set a timer that later erases those markers.
Signing out deletes the saved Apple identity on that device. It does not delete your lists or the copy in iCloud.
iCloud copies remain in your iCloud until you delete them there. Turning off Automatic iCloud backup and sync stops the Apple app from using its local cloud cache. It does not, by itself, delete the iCloud copy.
There is no First Up account on a Nakshatra server to delete. Measurement data collected by Google Analytics, or by a similar analytics tool we add, can be retained by that tool. The app does not set a separate retention period for that measurement data.
12. Your choices
- Use the Mac app as a guest, without Sign in with Apple.
- Sign out, or remove the saved Apple identity, from First Up. Revoke First Up under Sign in with Apple in your Apple Account.
- Turn off Automatic iCloud backup and sync on iPhone or iPad. iCloud itself is controlled in the device’s iCloud settings.
- Use an emoji instead of a photo, and delete a custom icon by switching back.
- Allow or refuse notifications, and clear a reminder inside the app.
- Share a list, or stop sharing it, from the Apple sharing controls.
- Delete a goal, task, heading, or group in the app.
13. Children
First Up is not directed to children under 13. The app does not ask for a child’s age, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information in First Up, email sales@nakshatra-ai.com.
14. This website
nakshatra-ai.com, including this page, is separate from the goal file stored by the app. The website uses Google Analytics to measure visits to the site.
15. Changes and contact
If First Up’s data practices change, this policy will be updated before a release that changes those practices. The effective date of this policy is October 21, 2026.
